Welcome to the online classified advertisements hosted by Asian Arts. We have established this classifieds section to provide an area where those interested in selling Asian objects and works of art can present material to those interested in buying. The search tools we have provided allow buyers to narrow the focus of the listing to only those objects of interest to them.

Information for buyers

There is no buyer's commission. The price you agree on with the seller (and any other costs, such as shipping, the seller may ask for) is all you will pay.

The items posted herein, and the accuracy of the description given in the postings, are entirely the responsibility and representation of the seller. Asian Arts is not involved in any of the transactions which take place as a result of these postings. If you are a buyer, make sure you are satisfied before making a purchase. The terms of the purchase are entirely between you and the seller.

We believe that the majority of those interested in this fascinating field are honest and well meaning. But there are a few in any field who attempt to abuse the trust of others. So caveat emptor (let the buyer beware!)

Methods of purchase may vary from seller to seller. Most will ask for payment in advance of posting an object, although many also offer an unconditional guarantee within a certain time limit. Be sure you have agreed on all such terms before finishing a transaction.
We offer you several ways to view the listings. Clicking on the Listings link on the menu bar will take you to the "default" format, that is all listings shown by date of listing, with the most recent presented first.
You may also refine the listings by area of origin or date or both, or search for words in listing titles. Several other options on the Search page can help you find what you are looking for.

Information for sellers

Click here to post an item for sale. You will be asked to register with Asian Arts Classifieds to post an item, and only registered sellers will be able to post. While registering, you will open an account with Asian Arts classifieds; however, we are starting this service with free one-month postings for a limited period of time, and you will only be charged the nominal listing fee of $5/month for postings when this period has expired: we will be giving a full one-month warning before we will begin charging for postings. There is no other fee.

When you establish an account with us, you will be charged $5 per posting per month if you post classifieds after the free period has expired. You will be billed on a monthly or quarterly basis depending on how heavily you use the classified. Sellers using a credit card will merely be asked to authorize the charging of their card in payment for postings, and will be billed and charged on a monthly or quarterly basis depending on the amount of activity in their account. Those wishing to pay by other means will be asked to submit a deposit of $50 against future charges, and will be charged against their advance payment until the advance is depleted, when they will be asked for a further advance.

You may post as many items as you want. Each posting may contain only a single item or group of items

You can include photographs, html enhancements and links in your postings.

All enquiries regarding your item or items will come directly to you, the seller.

Although we expect that many expert dealers will use the classifieds to sell material, the classifieds are also a good place for a person with a single item to sell. While we expect sellers not to misrepresent material, we certainly don't expect every seller to be an expert. If you are not sure of the origin of an item or the date, just avoid specifying either, and don't go beyond what you actually know in your description. Nothing helps better than a good photograph. Many experts do look through these classfieds, and if you do post something you are not sure of, you may receive some information from other visitors, as we encourage sellers and visitors to contact one another.
